Predictions for the new Earth Girl trilogy

So I can look back and feel very clever when it comes out however many years from now.

First up: the aliens are only dead for now. We know the aliens' tech was going to be able to somehow distinguish between Jarra and a clone Jarra with different memories. That means the aliens had the tech to encode both their genetics and their genetic memory, which they passed down between generations when they were alive. Add that information to the number of extinct species that have been brought back on Jarra's Earth, and I think we're going to see the aliens get brought back, with memories intact, likely somewhere in the second book of a new trilogy. Personally, I'd use the reveal that the aliens can be brought back at the end of Book One, with the race to find the tech/dangers in finding the tech as the main challenge there, followed by politics in Book Two with the Isolationists, and then by Book Three you've got the aliens running around and everyone's hunting the chimeras together.

NB: With other authors, I'd be expecting to see a new clone!Jarra with totally new memories, who the Military created and failed with, showing up at some point to be awkward and unwanted and eventually reconciled with. It could be a fun plotline and it'd get into some interesting nature-v-nurture stuff. I don't expect that with Edwards, though. It's just not her style and it'd put the Military in a really bad light.

Second prediction: the reason the chimera never colonized Earth when the probe stopped there (and we know it colonized Thetis, on the way from Fortuna to Earth) is that the chimera are reverse-Handicapped. They can't survive on the planets like Earth, with high sunspot activity. This will come out at some point, and will lead to a stampede to live on Earth and the new Handicapped-compatible colonies. It will also lead to a new method for killing out the chimera.
