I love all of these fandoms, and I will be delighted to get a gift for any of them. If I have more prompts for a given character or canon, it just means I was requesting more characters and/or had more ideas, not that I want it more.
While I have prompts for all of my requested characters, I’m also here for something different if you have a different story you’d love to tell (provided it doesn’t run into a DNW). Some of my favorite gifts have been ones I would never have thought to prompt! And I hope you also feel free to mix and match, take part of a prompt and leave the rest, etc.

I tend to prefer canon-typical levels of sexual content, which for these canons would mean nothing explicit. That being said, if you need to include a scene that’s a step above fade-to-black for reasons of the plot, I totally get it! I’m just not interested in smut/porn as the main focus of the fic.

Giant Days! I love this comic and everyone in it. :D
I’m keeping up with this one in the floppies, so no worries on spoilers. I’ve read the Christmas specials and I’ll have read the original three issues by the time reveals happen. Also, if you’ve only read part of the canon so far, that’s totally fine — I’m interested in stuff set anywhere in the story. :D
McGraw/Susan is my OTP in this canon, and I also like Esther/Ed. I’m also open to Daisy/OFC and Esther/OC. But really, my biggest ship in this canon is their friendship! Gen fic about canon-typical shenanigans would be amazing. :D
If you’re familiar with the Greater Tackleford Universe, I’ve read Bobbins (original flavor, Bobbins.horse, and New Bobbins), Bad Machinery, and Destroying History. I haven’t read Scary Go Round. If you want to pull someone in from the larger universe, I especially love Shelley, Amy, and Charlotte.
-The flat is haunted. Esther is delighted at first, but it turns out the ghost has more in common… with DAISY??
-Esther buys something at a boot sale, only to discover it’s cursed. At first she hopes it’s good cursed, but events suggest otherwise.
-The gang investigates a cryptid/campus legend.
-The gang takes the wrong bus again and ends up somewhere mysterious, forcing them to find their way back.
-Futurefic in which Daisy is marrying an OFC. Maybe Esther accidentally invites Ingrid — or maybe Esther’s concerned that Daisy’s making a mistake by marrying someone dull and boring, and “accidentally” invites Ingrid. Or maybe the wedding venue is damaged by a natural disaster, and it’s Daisy’s Brownie skills and McGraw’s construction skills to the rescue!
-Time travel. Someone travels to their future(s), realizes the three friends are no longer close, and comes back to the present to Fix Things. Or time travel for some other reason!
-I feel like this comic is right on my wavelength with the accidental drugging plotlines (Daisy and the Poundland cold medicine, Susan at the music festival, etc.). If that's something you’re into, keep it coming.
-For McGraw/Susan and/or McGraw & Daisy and/or Esther, Five Times McGraw’s Construction Skills Saved The Day (and one time it didn’t matter)
-Susan’s (canonical) work experience as a PI fascinates me. What could happen to make her use those skills? Maybe Daisy or Esther don’t know they need her help… but they do. Or a noir story from Susan’s perspective could be amazing!
-McGraw, possibly with assistance, comes up with a series of increasingly ridiculous plots to try to steal and clean Susan’s laptop.
-Esther, looking to make more money than the comics shop allows, starts a business selling glitter-stuffed envelopes for revenge delivery, and does surprisingly well. Then someone starts placing orders to be sent to Susan.
-I love Daisy’s pool skills. Seeing McGraw and Daisy bonding over that is great. :D Or maybe Susan needs pool lessons for an underworld detective thing, and asks Daisy to help her?
-I feel like this would be an amazing canon for a State-Mandated Ghost Hunters AU! For a gen take, maybe Daisy and Susan end up as the ghost speaker and ghost fighter, and Esther is just, like, so offended not to be included. Or maybe it’s an AU where Susan and McGraw haven’t yet reconciled, and they get called to serve together. Awkward! But I bet McGraw could make a mean scythe.
Hive Mind - Janet Edwards: Any (nominated characters Amber 2514-0172-912, Lucas 2511-3022-498, Nicole 2513-0864-331, and Simone “Buzz" 2512-1004-106)
I love this series. :D I’m always here for special, special telepaths and the people who love and serve them, so this series was an easy hit right on the sweet spot for my id… and then the author threw in some really interesting worldbuilding, too.
Ship-wise, I ship Amber/Lucas. Also, I know Buzz is with someone else at the end of Defender, but I kind of wanted to see her with Nicole — Buzz/Nicole could be a lot of fun!
I made this an Any request because I’m interested in fic focusing on any of these characters — anything from backstory fic for any individual character to a fic with all four of them. I’ll be super-excited to get anything more about these characters and this world!
I love how the Hive isn’t a dystopia or a utopia, but something in between — some things are obviously better than our world, and some things are obviously worse, and some things are just different. It’s a fascinating balance and I love the unique view Amber gets of that world.
-Casefic-type stuff would be amazing for this, because I love seeing Amber and Lucas and Nicole do their thing. Maybe it's something that seems trivial, like the ducks, that turns out to have more important implications. Or maybe it's a case that lets us look into some aspect of Hive life, like the Ramblers or some specialist niche profession.
-I’d also love to see more of the milk run operations, where everything goes smoothly! What do more typical runs look like? What kinds of places do they get to go? I’d also love to see a run from Lucas and/or Nicole’s perspective, since we don’t get to see that in canon!
-We've seen several urban legends the Hive uses to encourage specific behavior (“Level 99,” the fear of the outside, etc.). What other urban legends does the Hive have? Do any of our characters ever have to invent/establish an urban legend while doing their jobs?
-What other "deviant" pressure-relief communities like the Ramblers does the Hive have?
-The Hive seems committed to furthering engineering, the arts, and biosciences, but not to other types of knowledge. Does anyone in the Hive try to hold on to historical knowledge, whether of pre-Hive times or of the Hive itself? Is that allowed by the Hive as one of their pressure-relief communities, or is that something the Hive cracks down on?
-Amber (and Lucas, Buzz, and/or Nicole) is taking one of her reset breaks over at Hive Futura when something goes wrong. Maybe someone’s gotten in from outside and is stalking them. Maybe there’s a serious snowstorm, the aircraft can’t leave to bring them back, and the systems at Hive Futura are breaking down. Or maybe something else!
-We saw Amber’s time on Teen Level 50 and during her Lottery. What was the Lottery experience like for Buzz, Lucas, or Nicole? Is the imprinting experience alienating — suddenly having medical or logistics knowledge in your mind — or does it feel like something you’ve always wanted?
-The team comes across someone who's been hiding or suppressing full telepath abilities — maybe on purpose, maybe not. What's it like, especially if they're older? What happens if Amber is confronted with them during a run?
-I love the way this series and the Hive system includes people with all different abilities, including sometimes-invisible disabilities like Nicole’s. Did Nicole ever worry that her physical restrictions would prevent her from working a job she loves? How did that affect settling into Amber’s team (if it did)?
-Emergency response-related fic is my jam, and I’ve really enjoyed what we’ve seen in canon. I’d love to see more of our team responding to emergencies! What would an epidemic look like in the Hive? Are there ever storms outside large enough that they affect the inside of the Hive?
-Through her work with Amber, Buzz works out a potential method to make borderline telepaths into true telepaths. Would she try it on herself? Tell others?
-Amber accidentally reads one of Lucas’s parents and discovers more about why his family fell apart the way it did. Does she tell him?
The Katering Show: Kate McCartney & Kate McLennan
This show makes me so happy! I think I mainlined all the episodes in a day and a half when I found them. I love both the Kates and their enthusiastic (McLennan) and apathetic (McCartney) exploration of food culture. I got an amazing gift in this fandom last Yuletide, and I’d love to see the Kates in action again!
I'd be delighted by gen or ship for this request, but if you are interested in writing ship fic, I do ship Kate/Kate. (Kate2? McMc?)
I’ve seen Get Krack!n, if you’re familiar with that show and want to bring along BekJut, Helen Bidou, or one of the other Kracksperts.
I would like to note that my request here is for the characters they play on the show. While I realize it’s a fine line in a fandom like this one, I’m interested in FPF that relies on the show, rather than on sources about their real life. Non-specific mentions of them having partners and children are fine, but I don’t want their actual RL partners and children included, if that makes sense.
-A lost episode of The Katering Show! Some possible ideas: urban foraging, craft cocktails, Tea Culture, home fermentation, comfort food -- anything would be great! Or maybe the Kates go to a farm, and things do not go well. (If you're interested, I'm totally open to script-format for this, btw!)
-I love McCartney's cat Beans and would love a fic involving Beans. Also great: McLennan's jealousy of Beans, which I find hilarious.
-McCartney starts accidentally dreamwalking into McLennan’s dreams. It’s a really weird place in there.
-The Kates get invited somewhere to film a special episode of The Katering Show. (Haunted island? A winery with a castle? Abandoned summer camp slash cooking school?) When they get there, they realize that they’ve stumbled into a mystery — and they’re not getting out until they solve it.
-The Kates get bought out by Buzzfeed Australia and have to participate in one of Buzzfeed’s tropiest video concepts. Single People Get Married For A Week, We Tried [Insert Embarrassing Thing Here], We Lived In [Ridiculous Living Situation Here], forced to take a lie detector test, swimming with sharks — go for it.
-The Katering Show Noir! Maybe Beans has been catnapped, and McCartney asks hardboiled detective McLennan to look into it. Or (more likely?) maybe McLennan is the one behind the catnapping.
-McCartney's terrible apartment finally burns down, and she's looking for a new place. McLennan's feeling weird about it.
-Freaky Friday body-swap! McLennan finally realizes that McCartney was telling the truth when she said she wasn’t that interested in cheese, while McCartney is flummoxed by what food does to her new palate. Can they manage to host an episode while trying to stay in character as one another?
Mina de Malfois: Mina & Arc
I went back to re-read the stories recently, and I love them as much as I did when I first read them. :D
Arc/Mina is my OTP. Arc&Mina would be great, too! If you go the gen route, I would ask that Mina not be shipped with anyone but Arc, although I’d be OK with references to past/background Arc/Xenalvr. For other ships, I always kind of wanted to see Warr1or and PrinceC work things out, maybe a few years down the road.
-Seeing people investigate mysteries online is one of my favorite things, and I love seeing Mina look into fannish mysteries! Any sort of fannish mystery would be great, whether it’s something Charlotte Lennox-y, something from the fanzine era, a more recent fannish scam, etc.
-Arc/Mina, snowed in in a remote cabin. :D
-Arc/Mina or Arc&Mina, snowed in at a convention! I’ve heard some horror stories from con runners about what happens when an unexpected snowstorm hits just at the end of a con, and there’s scrambling to figure everything out and keep everyone fed and warm.
-Or to mash up a couple prompts from above, if casefic is your jam, I’d love to see a casefic at a con. Maybe there’s some sort of mystery to unravel while everyone’s snowed in together!
-Jen resurfaces to ask Arc and Mina for help — she’s been framed for some fannish misdeed she didn’t commit. (Or maybe the twist is that JEN is innocent but JOSH is guilty? Or the other way around!) Do Mina and Arc help her?
-Or maybe xenalvr is the one who turns up needing help!
-Mina does Yuletide! There was an oblique mention of Yuletide in canon, but as far as I recall, Mina didn’t participate. I love characters doing Yuletide — especially when things get a little messy or stressful. Maybe Mina gets assigned to Arc and worries about keeping Arc from finding out? Or maybe Mina puts her foot in it, and ends up at the center of a Yuletide wankstorm.
-A Con-mas Carol! After some large fannish kerfuffle, Mina considers leaving fandom. She is visited by three ghosts — the ghosts of Fandoms Past, Fandoms Present, and Fandoms Yet To Come...
-Mina decides to lurk under a pseud in the Discord for her original YA novel’s fandom. It goes about as well as you’d expect. Arc has to help unravel the situation.
-Or maybe Arc’s the one who puts her foot in it, for a change, and Mina has to help her out? Or (more likely) Mina THINKS Arc’s about to wrongfoot it, but Arc had a greater plan all along.

-Arc/Mina or Arc&Mina, snowed in at a convention! I’ve heard some horror stories from con runners about what happens when an unexpected snowstorm hits just at the end of a con, and there’s scrambling to figure everything out and keep everyone fed and warm.
-Or to mash up a couple prompts from above, if casefic is your jam, I’d love to see a casefic at a con. Maybe there’s some sort of mystery to unravel while everyone’s snowed in together!
-Jen resurfaces to ask Arc and Mina for help — she’s been framed for some fannish misdeed she didn’t commit. (Or maybe the twist is that JEN is innocent but JOSH is guilty? Or the other way around!) Do Mina and Arc help her?
-Or maybe xenalvr is the one who turns up needing help!
-Mina does Yuletide! There was an oblique mention of Yuletide in canon, but as far as I recall, Mina didn’t participate. I love characters doing Yuletide — especially when things get a little messy or stressful. Maybe Mina gets assigned to Arc and worries about keeping Arc from finding out? Or maybe Mina puts her foot in it, and ends up at the center of a Yuletide wankstorm.
-A Con-mas Carol! After some large fannish kerfuffle, Mina considers leaving fandom. She is visited by three ghosts — the ghosts of Fandoms Past, Fandoms Present, and Fandoms Yet To Come...
-Mina decides to lurk under a pseud in the Discord for her original YA novel’s fandom. It goes about as well as you’d expect. Arc has to help unravel the situation.
-Or maybe Arc’s the one who puts her foot in it, for a change, and Mina has to help her out? Or (more likely) Mina THINKS Arc’s about to wrongfoot it, but Arc had a greater plan all along.
